Romania day-ahead power price averages €120.14/MWh in July 2026

Romania’s average day-ahead electricity price on the OPCOM power exchange fell to €120.14/MWh in July 2026. The figure was down 2.32% from June’s average of €122.99/MWh. Compared with July 2025, the July 2026 level was 16.07% higher.

Day-ahead trading volume reached 1.179 million MWh in July. This represented a 32.76% increase versus June, while remaining 9.48% lower than the same month last year. Average hourly trading volume stood at 1,585.2 MWh.

The total value of transactions on the day-ahead market amounted to €143.3 million in July. That was up 21.76% from €117.7 million in June and 5.88% higher than €135.4 million a year earlier. The report also said day-ahead trading accounted for 30.34% of forecast net electricity consumption in July 2025.

Intraday trading volumes and pricing

On the intraday market, trading volume totaled 138,685.7 MWh. Volumes were up 18.14% from June but down 27.3% year on year. The average intraday price was €102.57/MWh.

The intraday average price decreased by 29.2% compared with the previous month. It was also reported to be 2.75% higher than in July 2025.
