Albanian bidding zone volumes and clearing price
Trading for the Albanian bidding zone totalled 166.2 GWh during the month. The average market-clearing price was €146.88/MWh. The bidding zone figures are reported alongside overall day-ahead market volumes.
Transaction value growth versus physical volumes
The value of transactions reached about €67.4 million in August. This represented a 73.5% year-on-year increase. The rise in transaction value outpaced the growth in physical volumes, while wholesale electricity prices remained elevated.
Exchange trading role as liquidity develops
The reported results point to an expanding role for organised exchange trading in Albania. The increase is linked to developments in liquidity and regional market integration, according to the figures provided. Activity on the ALPEX day-ahead market therefore forms part of the broader market integration picture described for the region.
