December 2025 volumes on CROPEX
1,087,877 MWh of electricity changed hands on the Croatian energy exchange CROPEX in December 2025, an 8% decrease compared with October. Trading split into 880,731.5 MWh on the day-ahead market and 207,145.5 MWh on the intraday market. Compared with December 2024, total traded volume rose by 3.2%.
Day-ahead and intraday price averages
The average daily base price on the day-ahead market in December was €113.1/MWh, which was 4.4% lower than in November. The average euro-peak price reached €125.37/MWh, down 6% versus the previous month. On the intraday market, the average price stood at €112.9/MWh, a 5.2% decrease compared with November.
Day-ahead trading volumes and CROPEX market setup
The average daily traded volume on the day-ahead market in December was 28,410.7 MWh. CROPEX was launched on 11 March 2016 in cooperation with Nord Pool. The exchange is co-owned by the Croatian electricity transmission system operator HOPS and the Croatian electricity market operator HROTE.
CROPEX intraday start and regional coupling
The intraday market began operations in April 2017. On 19 June 2018, following a joint project involving the Croatian and Slovenian transmission system operators and power exchanges, the CROPEX day-ahead market was coupled with the MRC markets. The coupling took place through the Croatian–Slovenian border.
