Electricity trading on North Macedonia’s day-ahead market rises in January 2026

In January 2026, the volume of electricity traded on North Macedonia’s day-ahead electricity exchange reached 153,028.7 MWh. This represented a 17.6% increase compared with 130,168 MWh in the same month a year earlier. Compared with December 2025, traded volume was 29.6% higher.

The electricity market operator MEMO reported that the average market-clearing price for January 2026 stood at 122.55 euros/MWh. The figure was up 4.8% from the previous month. MEMO also said the daily average trading volume amounted to 4,936.4 MWh.

The monthly peak price reached 137.8 euros/MWh, according to MEMO’s figures for January 2026. The North Macedonian electricity exchange was established in May 2023.
