Fourth week of January: solar photovoltaic changes

In the fourth week of January, solar photovoltaic generation increased in both the German and French markets compared with the previous week. Germany recorded a 73% rise after a prior week of growth, while France posted a 12% increase. Solar output fell in other parts of Europe, including markets on the Iberian Peninsula and in Italy. Spain and Portugal reported declines of 3.2% and 4.5%, respectively, while Italy saw a 16% decrease.

Solar outlook for the week of January 26

For the week of January 26, AleaSoft Energy Forecasting projected higher solar production in Italy versus the previous week. The same projections indicated declines in Spain and Germany. The forecast figures relate to expected changes compared with the prior week.

Wind energy performance during the week of January 19

Germany was an exception, with a 9.1% drop that marked its third consecutive week of decline.
