Electricity trading on the Croatian power exchange CROPEX reached 1,415,705.5 MWh in July 2026. The total was up 19.1% from May and 9.3% compared with July 2025. The monthly figures cover activity across day-ahead and intraday trading.
Day-ahead and intraday volumes
In July 2026, the day-ahead market accounted for 1,018,681.1 MWh of trading. Intraday trading contributed an additional 397,024.4 MWh. Average daily volume on the day-ahead market stood at 32,860.7 MWh.
Price movements across markets
The average day-ahead baseload price increased by 2.6% month on month to €118.89/MWh. The average Euro-peak price fell by 65.3% to €87/MWh. On the intraday market, the average price reached €118.74/MWh, down 1.3% from June.
Exchange timeline and ownership
CROPEX began operations on 11 March 2016 in cooperation with Nord Pool. The exchange is jointly owned by Croatian transmission system operator HOPS and electricity market operator HROTE. Intraday trading was introduced in April 2017.
Croatia-Slovenia coupling through MRC
The Croatian day-ahead market was coupled with the Multi-Regional Coupling (MRC) area through the Croatia-Slovenia border on 19 June 2018.
