Solar output diverged across Europe in early January, with Spain and Italy posting record levels while other markets moved lower. During the week of January 5, solar photovoltaic generation rose strongly in the Iberian Peninsula as most central European markets recorded declines. Spain posted the largest increase, with output up 39%, while Portugal followed with a 16% rise. Italy, Germany and France all saw downturns in solar generation.
